Of all the handmade chocolate bonbons I’ve had so far, Stick With Me Sweets has the best. Even the chocolatier I apprenticed for said that the founder and master chocolatier of Stick With Me Sweets, Susanna Yoon, is in the top 1% in the world. (She used to work at Per Se.)
The packaging is sweetly designed, and the box can be used to store other things long after the chocolates have been eaten.
The bonbons are gorgeously decorated–almost too beautiful to eat–and the shells are perfectly tempered. While this may sound like a requirement for any chocolate bonbon of this price point, I’ve had terrible ones.
Many of the flavors are basic crowd pleasers, such as the Vero and the New York. But for those who are a bit more adventurous, I recommend the black sesame & passion mango or kalamansi meringue pie.
The kalamansi meringue pie is an amazing bonbon spin on the dessert. Cut the bonbon in half, and you can see the lovely layers. And unlike many bonbons from other shops, each layer has its distinct texture, as well. Every bonbon has a mixture of textures, which keeps things interesting.
These also make the perfect gift that will wow the recipients. (But don’t forget to treat yourself either!)
Stick With Me Sweets recently opened a location in South Korea, which from its Instagram page, seems even grander than the New York location.
